Running a business means trusting a few people with a few keys. We help you keep track of who can open what: rekeying when staff change, master key systems that make sense, and exit hardware chosen so everyone can leave without a key.
EmergencyHome Lockout ServiceAfter a week of humid weather the back door has swollen in its frame.
The fix
Most lockouts end with the original lock still on the door and still working. That is the point of professional entry: picks, tension tools, decoders and latch tools are designed to operate the mechanism the way a key would, without cutting or prying anything.
EmergencyBusiness Lockout ServiceThe heavy glass door has been scraping the threshold for weeks.
The fix
Businesses are locked out by people as often as by hardware. A keyholder is away, a former employee still has a key, a master key has gone missing, or the only spare lives in a drawer behind the locked door.
EmergencyBroken Key ExtractionIn the parking lot your car key snapped in the driver's door.
The fix
A car key that breaks in the door or the ignition is handled with the same extraction tools, with one difference. On most vehicles the plastic head of the key carries the transponder chip and the remote buttons, and that half is usually intact in your hand.
EmergencyBreak-In Damage Lock RepairThere is a hole where the cylinder used to be.
The fix
A break-in repair happens alongside a police file and an insurance claim, and a good locksmith keeps both in mind. Before any hardware is moved the damage is photographed as found: door face, edge, strike, jamb, hinges and glass.
EmergencySeized & Jammed Lock OpeningThe key turns a full circle without any resistance and the deadbolt stays exactly where it is.
The fix
Most seized locks can be saved, and keeping your existing hardware is the aim. A cylinder that has stopped turning is usually recoverable with cleaning and fresh internal parts.
EmergencyLost Keys — Same-Visit RekeyYou were shovelling the driveway after dark and the ring must have slid out of your coat pocket somewhere under a metre of snow.
The fix
Rekeying and replacing a lock arrive at the same place by different roads. Replacement puts new hardware on the door: a new deadbolt or handle, and a finish that may not match its neighbours.
Mailbox locks are small, but a mailbox is where the bank statements arrive, so we take them seriously. Most residential boxes take a standard cam lock that can be swapped without fuss once the box is confirmed as yours; multi-unit buildings usually need the property manager's go-ahead first. We match the new lock to the box, cut two keys, and note the code for the future.
No surprises on the doorstep. What we described on the phone is what we plan to do. If the door tells us something different when we see it, we stop and talk before going further.
Helping you choose well. Hardware ranges from basic to heavy-duty and simple to electronic. We explain the differences that actually matter for your door and leave the choice with you.
Neat work, neatly finished. Holes drilled cleanly, hardware aligned, nothing crooked or forced. A lock should look like it belongs on the door, and we take the time to make sure it does.
We split our work into emergency, residential, automotive and commercial, but plenty of jobs sit between them. A landlord's rekey is residential work done with commercial thinking. A car key made in a driveway is automotive work with a home visit. Ask, and we will place it.

A lockout is stressful in proportion to how long it drags on. We keep the phone questions to the essentials, ask you to have identification or a document showing the place is yours, and explain the opening method before touching the door.
Change or rekeyChange or Rekey LocksResidential work covers more than the front door.Services
Residential work covers more than the front door. Garage side entries, walkout basements, patio sliders and gate latches are all common weak points, and a house is only as secure as its least considered door.

Every high security installation ends with a walk-through: how the new key feels, how the bolt seats, where the keys are numbered, who is on the authorisation list. You should leave knowing exactly what was fitted and how to manage it.

Restaurants, clinics, offices, shops, garages and storage units each wear out hardware differently. Commercial lock replacement is about matching the grade of the lock to the traffic through the door, and the pages here describe how we make that match.

If you have one key left, protect it and let us copy it before it is the one you lose. If you have none, tell us the make, model and year and we will explain what making a key from nothing involves for your vehicle.
The builder handed over your new home with a stack of identical keys, and you know the framing crew, the painters and the flooring installers all used a construction key during the build. The doors are brand new, but the key that opens them should be yours alone.
Three teenagers, a dog walker, a cleaner and one house key that keeps going missing. You are tired of cutting copies and would rather give each person a code you can switch off, with a proper deadbolt behind it.
You jiggle the key a little and the old deadbolt opens even when the cut does not look quite right. If your worn key can do that, you wonder what a stranger with the right tools could do.
Has it been forced, does it drag, who has had keys? Those answers tell us whether the frame, the cylinder or the key list needs attention first.

Testing every key in every lock
Reinforcing what takes the blow. A box strike and three-inch screws into the studs, long hinge screws, and filled holes where the wood has split, before any cylinder is changed.
Testing every key in every lock. Doors open, doors closed, both sides, then a push on the locked door to feel for play. We finish by writing down what was fitted.

Homes of every age. About 43% of homes in Georgina were built in 1980 or earlier, according to the 2021 Census.
Where housing is mixed, doors that have been replaced sit beside doors that never were. A new door in an old frame, or an old door in a repaired frame, needs its strike and hinges checked together so the whole assembly works as one.
83%
Mostly houses. Single-detached houses make up about 83% of homes in Georgina (2021 Census).
Garage entry doors on detached houses are often the household's real front door, used more than the formal entry. They deserve the same quality of lock, and keying them alike with the house means one key does the whole daily routine.
We need to open for customers. How do you sequence the visit?
Entry comes first and repairs second. Once authority is confirmed the door is opened, staff go in and start their routine, and the locksmith turns to the cause: extracting a broken key, rekeying for a lost one, re-springing a deadlatch or lifting a dropped door. Anything that can wait for a quieter hour, such as rekeying interior doors, is offered as a return visit so the shop floor is not blocked while it trades.
Can you open a door that has a push bar on the inside?
Yes. From outside, an exit device is operated through its trim, which may be a keyed lever, a pull with a cylinder or a bare rim cylinder. Depending on the trim fitted, picking or decoding that cylinder either retracts the latch directly or unlocks a lever, knob or thumbpiece that then has to be turned to let the latch go. The bar, rods and dogging feature stay as installed for the emergency way out, and the bar is pressed afterward to confirm it releases the latch with one push.
Will we get something in writing afterwards?
Yes. The visit closes with a written account of which door was opened and how, the condition the hardware was in, anything replaced, the number of keys cut and who received them. Landlords ask for it when locks on a unit change, insurers after a loss, and franchise head offices as a matter of course. Keep it with the lease; it also tells the next locksmith exactly what is on your doors.
How do I order extra keys later?
An authorised person contacts the locksmith who holds your system, quotes the system reference, and the key is cut from code and numbered into the register. Some systems use a physical authorisation card, others an online validation, and business systems often require a signature that matches one on file. The key is collected or delivered, and the record shows the new total. It is deliberately not something a stranger with your key can do.
